Benny is a Mushroom person who makes a brief appearance in the Super Mario Bros. comic "Just Deserts." He is apparently the one who installed several Apook Corporation vending machines in the comic, including a tire repair kit vending machine. During the comic, after a cactus shreds all of Mario and his friends' dune buggy when King Toadstool drives over it, Mario walks over to the tire repair kit vending machine to buy a tire repair kit. As he inserts a coin into the vending machine, Benny tells his friend that this was a great location for the vending machine, with his friend complimenting him for being a genius.
